TASK1 and TASK3 in orexin neuron of lateral hypothalamus contribute to respiratory chemoreflex by projecting to nucleus tractus solitarius

چکیده

TWIK-related acid-sensitive potassium channels (TASKs)-like current was recorded in orexin neurons the lateral hypothalamus (LH), which are essential respiratory chemoreflex. However, specific mechanism responsible for pH-sensitivity remains elusive. Thus, we hypothesized that TASKs contribute to In present study, found TASK1 and TASK3 were expressed neurons. Blocking or microinjecting acid artificial cerebrospinal fluid (ACSF) LH stimulated breathing. contrast, alkaline ACSF inhibited breathing, attenuated by blocking TASK1. Damage of stimulatory effect on respiration caused microinjection (at a pH 6.5) antagonists. The orexinA-positive fiber type 1 receptor (OX1R) located nucleus tractus solitarius (NTS). exciting acidosis OX1R NTS. Taken together, conclude sense extracellular change through regulate projecting

Nucleus of the tractus solitarius metastasis: relationship to respiratory arrest?

BACKGROUND A 52-year-old woman with metastases in brain and bone had clinical and radiological response to therapy but died about 10 weeks after diagnosis. General autopsy failed to identify a primary neoplasm or an anatomic cause of death. Investigation of sudden respiratory cessation was a consideration when undertaking an anatomic study of the brain. METHODS Review of patient records and c...

Hypoxia activates nucleus tractus solitarii neurons projecting to the paraventricular nucleus of the hypothalamus.

Peripheral chemoreceptor afferent information is sent to the nucleus tractus solitarii (nTS), integrated, and relayed to other brain regions to alter cardiorespiratory function. The nTS projects to the hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus (PVN), but activation and phenotype of these projections during chemoreflex stimulation is unknown. We hypothesized that activation of PVN-projecting nTS neur...

Glutamate receptors in the nucleus tractus solitarius contribute to ventilatory acclimatization to hypoxia in rat.

When exposed to a hypoxic environment the body's first response is a reflex increase in ventilation, termed the hypoxic ventilatory response (HVR). With chronic sustained hypoxia (CSH), such as during acclimatization to high altitude, an additional time-dependent increase in ventilation occurs, which increases the HVR. This secondary increase persists after exposure to CSH and involves plastici...

Vasopressin contributes to hypertension caused by nucleus tractus solitarius lesions.

Lesions of the nucleus tractus solitarius (NTS) were studied to determine whether they elevate plasma vasopressin levels and, if so, whether these elevated levels of vasopressin contribute to the hypertension caused by NTS lesions. Bilateral electrolytic lesions of the NTS caused acute, severe hypertension in rats anesthetized with chloralose and in conscious, freely moving rats. After placemen...

Orexin-A depolarizes nucleus tractus solitarius neurons through effects on nonselective cationic and K+ conductances.

The nucleus tractus solitarius (NTS) plays central roles in a number of autonomic functions including cardiovascular control. Orexin (ORX)-A is a 33-amino-acid peptide implicated in the central regulation of energy metabolism, sleep, and the cardiovascular system. Studies demonstrate the presence of ORX-immunoreactive axons and both OX(1)R (orexin receptor) and OX(2)R mRNA within NTS. In this s...
